Linssen Boating Holidays

No sailing Licence needed

You don't need a motor boat cruising licence in all countries*1!
Do you have little or no boating experience? Are you not sure if you're confident enough to take the wheel? Many customers before you felt the same but they were pleased to find out how easy it is to sail and manoeuvre a Linssen. This adventure includes simple things like casting off and mooring or navigating through locks. Other skippers and the lock keepers will be only too pleased to help you. You will soon have “your” yacht under control. All yachts are fitted with a bow thruster, which often ensures even smoother handling when used in conjunction with a stern thruster*. Your LBH partner will also be pleased to supplement the already comprehensive handover process with additional sailing lessons*.

On the basis of their many years of experience with Linssen yachts and the knowledge of their specific regions, the LBH partners have created various interesting routes for you. These vary from a weekend to three weeks or even more. The routes are suitable for beginners, for boaters with chartering experience and for seasoned skippers who have been exploring European waterways for years. A wide range of route suggestions have been created that could be characterised as ‘easy’, ‘moderate’ or ‘demanding’.

Every LBH guest however experiences a voyage, the number of sailing hours and the priorities when enjoying such a voyage, in a different manner. So ask the LBH partner at the destination of your choice which route is the most suitable for you and your fellow boaters. He will be pleased to advise you. Moreover, he will do his best to accommodate any individual wishes you may have. We would like to wish you in advance a wonderful sailing adventure on ‘your’ Linssen, somewhere in Europe…

The Route

Each LBH partner will recommend several routes to you. These are merely suggestions to help you enjoy a pleasant and relaxing way of balancing your travelling time with stays at beautiful mooring places. However, there's nothing to prevent you from varying your trip any way you want. So if you fall in love with a particular village or city, you can simply stay there longer!

Check in

On your arrival, you will be welcomed by our base manager. The few formalities will be completed smoothly. This will give you the chance to discuss your route. If you have pre-ordered any items, they will already be waiting for you on board*. If you would like to make any further purchases, we will be happy to advise you*. Once you have been allocated a parking space*2, you can take your luggage on board (rigid suitcases are not practical on board your yacht…). When you have acclimatised a little, the handover and familiarisation process can begin.

All on-board equipment will be explained and training given. You will be instructed about casting off and mooring and passing through locks and told how to navigate and operate the yacht responsibly in your own interest and in the interest of your crew, fellow water sport enthusiasts and the environment. Sailing is teamwork. It's not only the captain that has to keep a lookout! The diesel and water tanks are full. You can take on fresh water in many marinas and at many quaysides*. Now you're all set. The great voyage can begin…

Comfort

Although each yacht in the fleet has its own unique character, every single floating home is amazingly well-equipped! The interior is magnificent, with its beautiful wood finishes. All your comforts are catered for. You have a wonderful view from the bright saloon, you have everything you could want in the kitchen and the cabins are spacious, as are the toilet and shower cubicles. There is a hot water supply. The lighting and the equipment power is provided by the on-board batteries which are charged automatically while the yacht is underway. The yachts have a shore connection for the 220 V on-board network and usually also an additional battery charger and inverter for the 220 V circuit*2. The time you spend on deck is made as pleasant as possible by the deck furniture and all-weather protection*2.

Bicycles

You should also hire bicycles for your crew*2. This will increase the distance you can travel around your floating home. And you will also be getting some exercise. Which will make your Coq au Vin in the evening taste even better… And you can cycle off to fetch fresh rolls and your newspaper every day in time for your breakfast on deck.

When?

If you don't have to take your holidays during the summer, you can also enjoy seeing the trees blossom in spring or the glorious colours of autumn. In addition, the rates are particularly attractive then. The atmosphere by and on the water may even be better during these seasons. Find out about the great deals on offer for (long) weekends, mini-breaks and other tailor-made options*2. It's no problem to book through the Linssen Boating Holidays® network. And in your own language.

Your national/regional LBH contact will be happy to make your booking with one of the other partners in the destination country of your choice. Just give them a call or send them an e-mail. They will be delighted to arrange everything for you!

Parking, transfer and internet?

The LBH partners provide a car park, airport and rail shuttle service at their bases and Wi-Fi (W-Lan) in their marinas. What is on offer differs between bases/countries*2.
